Chi è A-lab ?

A-lab Milano inizia a prendere forma nell’ottobre del 2006 dal desiderio di alcuni giovani fashion designer di aprirsi un varco nella realtà milanese del pret-à-porter.
Il piccolo “embrione”, composto da tre talenti del settore, è nato dall’idea di dar vita a un laboratorio nel quale arte e moda si fondano per creare altro.
Il marchio è composto da un timbro, simile a quello postale, che assicura un valore di certificazione, di qualità e di ricerca continua; in esso, “Milano made in Italy”, ha un valore simbolico, serve a specificare che ci troviamo in Italia e precisamente a Milano, la capitale del pret-à-porter, dove è ancora possibile creare qualcosa di diverso.
La A è da intendersi come prima lettera dell’alfabeto e quindi, in senso lato, come l’inizio di tutto. Da qui si parte per raggiungere, pian piano, nuovi traguardi, mete lontane.
La lettera è anche un implicito riferimento ad Alessandro Biasi, organizzatore e coordinatore della fucina di idee.
Lab invece è l’abbreviazione di Laboratory, è il mondo di A-lab, luogo di creazione, luogo di incontri e scontri d’idee, ma soprattutto di rapporti umani.
A-lab non suggerisce uno stile o una tipologia di capi, ma un modo di intenderli e viverli; ecco perché si rivolge a una nicchia di mercato, colta e ricercata, non influenzata dal potere di un logo o dalle tendenze del mercato.
Per A-lab ogni capo è vissuto come un’ opera d’arte, dotato di un valore emotivo aggiunto che lo rende unico perchè ritiene che sia il “come” a fare la differenza. Ogni capo, numerato da 1 a 10 sull’etichetta con una x che sta a identificarlo, è per questo riprodotto fino a un massimo di dieci copie.
Un progetto fondato sulla “limited edition”, pensato per andare oltre gli schemi tramite mood e immaginari alternativi, favorisce un pensare indipendente da logiche stilistiche omologanti.
A-lab crede fortemente che il miglior modo di tutelare le menti sia esporle direttamente al mondo, lasciando che questo le contamini e le influenzi. Solo così si riuscirà a conservare la libertà creativa a ogni livello. Questo è il suo punto di partenza, privo di limiti e regole fisse che potrebbero non preservare quella stessa libertà di espressione che A-lab stesso ricerca.

WHO IS A-LAB?
In October 2006, in order to enter the Milanese prêt -a –porter , a group of young fashion designers gave birth to A-Lab.
A-Lab is a team of three young talents, an “embryon” in the fashion panorama which is mixing art and stytle to mould something else.
The symbol of the brand is a stamp which reminds of authenticity, quality and refinement.
The inscription, “Milan Made in Italy”, is the guarantee of a good product, but A lab wants to give it an added value, a sign of “something new”.
The A is the first letter of the alphabeth and so that the project can be considered the beginning of a path towards something bigger. The letter also refers implicitly to Alessandro Biasi the organiser and coordinator of the team.
Lab is the abbreviation of Laboratory, the place of creativity, inspiration ,shaping of ideas and above all of human relationships.
A-lab does not suggest only a style or a type of clothes, but a way of interpreting and living them.
The brand is meant for those who are cultured and not influenced by the trends.
Every creation is felt as a masterpiece, a unique one since we think that is the way in which is created that makes the difference. Every clothe is reproduced only ten times and not more: on the label there are written the numbers from 1 to 10 and on everyone there is a small cross on the number the creation represents.
It is a limited edition project created in order to go beyond the common schemes passing through moods and creative visions. It is an independent way of thinking.
A-lab believes that the only way to protect the freedom of our minds is to expose them in the real world letting them be influenced by the power of new suggestions.
This is A-lab’s starting point: acting in the world of creativeness without limits which threaten to kill the freedom of expression that is the objective of the project.
